We need to bring back something similar to the SYL and a proper nationalist military to take back the country.

Our first president will forever hold a place as the benchmark for everyone else and frankly none have measured up to his nobility and class. The SYL were also the greatest collection of intellectuals we had, akin to the young turks, they should've continued to rule and break down out dated traditions.

I believe this youth is as nationalist as those of 1977 if we get back our national pride though a new order and state all will fall into line.

I truly hope so. I try my best to spread it, teaching my juniors to think bigger then our fathers and grandfathers. The one thing stopping a true revival of nationalism is security, we're still on survival mode back home and until we learn to live together we're stuck in the civil war era.

Inshallah we'll see a break through with those that have vision taking the reigns. Strong army with a strong foundation in public sector and we'll be booming.

So far only the diaspora are thinking this way, idk about back home. Educate the cousins back home and we might see some change. We have to explain to them that we have more enemies than we realise who would love to keep us in this perpetual state of disarray.

100% We should definitely facilitate the rise of a Somali back home who will share this mentality. Building schools that are accessible to the youth and ensuring they are well educated is important. We also need to install a meritocracy system, rewarding highly skilled and knowledgeable people in order to push people to become that. This'll lead to less corruption and nepotism within the public sector.

I feel like a lot of these issue will be tackled after security is ensured. Those educated in the diaspora will flow back into Somalia and with them comes a different perspective. A perspective of being the outsider and why banding together under somalinimo is far better than whatever is going on now.

We have so much work to do but I think it's key to remember that change begins within our homes. Teacher your children to place Somalinimo after the deen and before whatever clan they are from.
