if there is huge demand for workers. There should be competition on higher wages for workers.

Unions are teeth less on most of the pay issues.

This issue is a lack of financial literacy. People do not understand that money is debt and that asset allocation is the foundation for the exploitive society we find ourselves in. If you want to be financially free in this world, you need to reframe your focus not on a career long term, but on collecting the assets necessary to not be shackled by this parasitic economic system.
