They have sharp tongue with spikes which they use to scrape meat off a bone, clean their fur, get rid of an ich, Skip to 7:20 to see the guy's arm bleed from a few licks. Watch it after you look at the tongue in close up
Maybe you didn't know, but almost all the Big Cats do have rough tongues to scrape meat from bones and furs.. they're known as papillae and are rear faced and serve that purpose
One interesting animal which isn't a predator, but like a prey is the herbivorous browser known as Giraffe. It pretty much has a long rough tongue. Just imagine dealing with thorns from trees like Acacia
If you own a pet cat, check its tongue too, it's similar to the big Cats.. like a sandpaper
