Ive seen that this is a nationwide, many prison are over capicity handeling double the amount they where meant to and the prisoners their either sitting talking to each other and the guards like its a huge café or if their less fortunate getting the shit beat of them but the end result is the sane they don't do Jack shit and are a money drainer why hasnt any gov used the prisoners for hard labour? The amount of infrastructure build would increase and the cost would be lower. The prisoners would work and might learn and ponder and manual labor is better than the death sentence which might make the clan/family of the perpurtraitoir hostile.
Time to use our prison population to better out country, It has benefitted countries like the Soviet union, China and US greatly.

Stalin created dozens of hydro electric dans which could generate electricity and help with water safety and agriculture he build them with only the fraction of the cost only needing to feed the workers.

Possible solution is privatising prisons in Somalia. And turn them to do useful things for society in prison .

Rapists, murderers, and traitors should be executed. Other offenses should have light sentences (max 7 years) with decreasing sentences in exchange for manual labor. Atrocious juveniles should serve life sentences in manual labor.

Agree with you on most part except juveniles should be rehabilitated and no labour .

For hard labour to be implemented you would need tight security and walls around the perimeter otherwise many prisoners will be escaping.

While I support execution, I believe there should be some sort of trial or hearing since false accusations can be a possibility, it may not work since it
will cost additional money and time something Somalia is hard pressed with.

I think Hard Labour would be the way to go as you can force the prisoners to help with the infrastructure and the development of regions, i'm just not sure how it can be implemented to its maximum capabilities.

We should have all(or most) prisons be privatized so that we can at least make money off these criminals. At least enough money to pay their expenses (food, shelter, electricity), so that tax money can be used for more important things than keeping criminals alive.

I agree sxb. We need to make good use of these scumbags whilst they're alive...
:umad:

But what exactly do you mean by "atrocious juveniles"? Imo minor offenders under the age of 16 should be rehabilitated first & not prosecuted, but if they reoffend then they should be jailed, but no manual labour because of their age. Once they're above 16 they can start manual labour.

I don't think so. I remember reading a story about a 14 yr old who killed and raped his teacher. Do you think people like this need rehab? I certainly don't. Some people are really evil.

yes . And if he is still a danger to society he should be left in rehab till he is not .

Mass unregaluted and untaxed privitasation is a huge problem for the nation and government and full privitasation in certain sectors will drop the quality of it massavily.

I don't see him going anywhere with rehab. There are many stories of killers who are set free only to start killing again. He made these choices, he should deal with the consequences.

Well in that case, if a juvenile commits a serious crime(murder, rape etc.) then they should serve jail time until they reach the age of execution.

I was thinking small rotating groups of workers guarded by millitary personal with one of these on their leg

Well it depends where . compared to Scandinavian models which has the lowest recidivism rate in the world .

Ppl who do street crime get harsh sentence compared to corporate crime like fraud and tax evasion.

Its all about income equality how ever minorities tend to do more street crimes statically.

U dont need to be proff to know dat.
