I have heard many somlis tell me they watch Nigerian films, Indian films and heck 'sudanese films':draketf:

So i was surfing through youtube to look for some decent somali films and all i came across was riwaayads where old men and women stand on a stage with microphones.:kodaksmiley:

Why hasnt any1 invested in the Somali Film industry? How did the Sudanese succeed where we failed?
:ivers:

Truly the most disappointing ethnic group to still exist in th 21st century:kanyehmm:

Then you fucking do it. Stop sitting on your ass waiting for change to happen.:farole:
i specailise in Electrical Engineering sxb. Im just not sure why creative young somalis arent taking full advantage of this fruitful opportunity.

We bootleg everything.

Only way it would work is if the government backed a film company to create content that helps build national unity and identity.

Investing in Arts is something we will do when we get security out of the way first

I don't mind being a film producer and creating love stories about a nomad couple who tahriib and one ends up dying, they run away from the family and community in hopes of searching for the promised land their cousins kept speaking about on Facebook :), or I could just do a short version on an actual nomadic love story about two people in two separate tribes falling madly in love. It's douable the reason why somalians don't go into film is taboo notion of having sex participating in kissing the opposite sex. At the end of the day it's all acting and you have to act that character, Somalis are boring people religion has made them non creative

Complete and utter nonsense ! The entire population sits around all day watching Bollywood mOvies and ruwaayad .a Somali film industry has huge potential , but they are lacking in good software, directors andequipment

Don't see why we need one. They are lots of importantly necessary developments needed compared to a film industry

No due to religious obligations nobody would consider acting as a career unless you want boring movies where a man and women just stare at eachother
