They’re mid-thirties to early fifties. They drive Dodge Journeys or similar vehicles. They act cute like white soccer moms. They give their teenage sons wet kisses on the mouth. They wear guntiino over yoga pants, with a jacket and a stylish hijab. They take the kids to dugsi instead of soccer practice.
This is a real phenomenon in Edmonton and other communities and I don’t know how to interpret it. The Dodge Journey is their choice of vehicle, just as it is for white soccer moms. Is this coordinated? What’s going on? How will this affect the community going forward? What will this morph into?
