The Reewing. To this day they are known to be memorisers of the Quran to the extent that you will find 6-7 year olds who have memorised the entire quran from cover to cover. In the past people from all over Somalia used to travel to the interiverine areas to learn the Quran. Even cities like Diinsoor were established as hubs for learning religious knowledge. The word Diinsoor comprises of "Diin" Meaning religion or religious knowledge and "Soor" Meaning "Marti soor" Which means welcoming newcomers and also soor the famous Somali dish. This shows you the connection that the Reewing and the interiverine region have with the Diin and teaching the Quran. Inshallah the Quran keeps on being taught here and it's glory as the region where people travel here from all over Somalia returns and Somalis continue to be known as ahlul qur'aan
