I’m feeling nostalgic, does anyone know where I can find the old Somali films from the 2000s and the 90s.

You can see the Hindi influences. For some reason Indian films have a massive cultural presence in Somalia. I have been to few other other places like that, for example in Kenya its not as strong.

I like Hindi films from the 90s anyways. I wonder if this tradition will continue as Somali cinema comes along.

Geedka nolosha or The Tree of Life, a short film film by legendary Somali director Abdulkadir Said.

A man sets out for his daily work of cutting down trees, only this day, he ends up cutting down the wrong tree. In the process, he ends up disturbing everyone, birds, flock, other trees and people alike.

I cant find a decent resolution that is also the complete film (If you have it please let me know)
