The terms 'j*reer' and 'jileec' are, in my perspective, descriptive words. 'Jileec' is applied to South Asians, and the person who used it in that context could be categorized as such. 'J*reerwayne' also denotes a Somali Bantu tribe that takes pride in its name, even having its own flag. However, like any other descriptive words, these terms can be used derogatorily, akin to words like 'black' or 'white,' or 'fat' or 'skinny.' In the context of Somalis in the West, 'j*reer' has become a universal term for individuals who resemble Bantus, as it's challenging to discern their specific national or regional origin.

Additionally, a distinguished companion known for his remarkable handsomeness, titled 'the Yusuf of the Ummah of Rasulullah ﷺ,' was named Sayyiduna J*reer bin Abdullah Bajali رَضِىَ اللّٰهُ عَـنْهُ.

An cadaan and indoyar person have said the J word in my presence. I have known the cadaan guy for some time, he is a local dude (he has also somali friends,) he wasn’t tapped into somali business like that before 2020 :mjkkk: I was in total shock, but when the indoyar said it (the context he said it too) made my head combust.

I have noticed foreigners have become more familiar with somalis then ever before, even those who have somali friends. I have met folks who are 1-step away from completely assimilating into us, both men and women.

Shit is crazy man, but I guess its kinda normal. You are what your friends are and we are also very welcoming.

Where I live, somali words are part of the slang and folks have copied basically our whole syntax, not only words.

Also have to say the biggest culprits are dhegacas and timojileecs. Other groups are just skinny dipping while these guys do a deep dive.

Tiktok and Twitter have set us back. Idiots started blabbering that word everywhere on those 2 platforms and continue to do it.

There is no going back to 2019 times. Prepare yourselves for an uncontacted tribe from the Amazon to speak to you in somali.

Spelled in both variations, I actually possess an image of a meme featuring an Arab child praying in a mosque while wearing a football shirt with his name spelled as "J*areer"

Its true you can spell it both ways in arabic but you definitely don’t pronounce the same. The somali word is pronounced totally different as what the sahabi name was. Jariir=/ J*reer
Look how the name is pronounced

Somalis love using rude nicknames, and most Somalis have a nickname related to their appearance or personality! We need to go after these disgusting people, who like to make Somalis look like demons. Accusing Somalis of being racist, when every. single. person and ethnic group gets called by their appearance!!!

Please make this article go viral, and make Somalis discuss the love of rude nicknames, family names and so forth. Somali PR has taken a huge hit from these disgusting people online, who insist on making enemies for Somalis everywhere they go.

Whenever someone complains about J word, hit them with this TRUTH combo:

1. With the definition of the word; kinky hair
2. This article; https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/magazine-26354143
3. Bantus in Somalia, call THEMSELVES the J word.

I remember half breed somalis and blm xalimos on Twitter during lockdown was claiming it’s racist word that’s where people began to say it’s racist.

I remember this xalimo who blocked me I was trying to example to her that it’s racist if you use it negatively the same way if you use black as negative it’s racist. Back home people will give rude funny nickname but their intentions is to have laugh off

Yes, it is rude to call people by their physical descriptors, however, Somalis are blunt/rude/comedic and everyone gets it. These BLM/SJWs were not raised in Somalia, or around Somalis and they want to be walked all over and demonise us to achieve it. It's not just Xalimos, I saw a BLM/SJW guy going after Somalis too, even on this forum there was/is a guy.

In its etymology, 'j2reer / j2riir' in an Arabic word meaning 'hard to obey, bend', and is used to depict strength in personality, as in the famous Arab poet
' جرير اليربوعي ' .
