I've always thought that Somalia's relatively low population was the only redeeming thing about the country in the past 25 years. Thank God there aren't 30+ million Somalis, the thought of 50 million Somalis is just terrifying. Somalia needs to keep its population 15-20 million TOPS. If Australia can achieve a 1+ trillion economy with just 20 million people so there's plenty of room for Somalia for economic gain besides a population boom. We need to focus on the quality and output of our citizens not just breed more useless Somalis.

I wouldn't be so confident of that. Look at Afghanistan with 35mil+ people. The high population (along with terrain) is a main reason why the country is difficult to pacify. If the US/world powers have spent a QUARTER of the resources they spent on Afghanistan, Somalia would be an oasis of civilisation today.
