The Government of Somalia will provide Aid to Awdal region

Deputy Minister of Petrol Abdiwahaab Abdi Cumar from Saylac with the help of SoDMA, has organized aid to be sent to the severely drought stricken region of Awdal. This is great news considering the Somaliland government has failed to help the communities affected by this drought. The deputy minister has answered the calls of his community, and I salute him.

This relief campaign is being spearheaded by Dr. Bulale, who is organising the aid in coordination with the SODMA Commissioner, as that agency regularly collaborates with the Health Ministry by mandate.

One of the things I realized recently is that the polticization/weaponization of aid. Is universal among somalis and it wasnt just aideed in the 90s and hsm now. But its something that happens routinely everywhere. Somaliland did it to lascanood before and awdal now. Puntland apparently has also been blocking developmental funds and ngo aid money from reaching sanaag for years. (Although there have been people on the puntland side pushing for sanaag to get this funding but they've been overpowered everytime. )

There is evidence of FGS blocking developmental funds from the IC earmarked for Puntland.
