We had alot of hope in Farole govt when he left Australia that he will refocus Puntland on itself and not look South for solutions as previous politics since Keenadiid. He achieved this goal as he set up Puntland we have today and it's inward focus, their still obviously those among us who still look South due to some burden they must carry or responsibility but their a smaller camp in our politics, thank god. Farole did many good things like set up our constitution from a charter, he completed Somali constitution in garowe 1 and 2, and he focused alot on development kick starting the oil race following cade muse vision which all Somalis copied.
He also brought this sinister politics aan la aqoon of nepotism of his son and family worship which died in civilian govt era which all Somalis are doing now. He made it clear to Somalis a federation in contradiction to the Puntland model will not be accepted, sayfti wa bananka. Gaas was the worst president we had tho, he did some good like ending transition from tfg to sfg as PM but negotiated too many powers for the incompetent SFG thru faith and gentleman agreement and not set mandatory milestones must be achieved such as political credibility thru local confidence and foreign not have your locals hate your SFG and foreigners holed up in Halane, he must of demanded also security milestones, rule of law, socio economic development, good governance, strong institution and no corruption.
On top of that foreigners must give it the tick of approval and locals in the south not their leaders but the ppl.
