1 - Not only the foreign ministry was militraised but also most of the cabinet, as well as governors positions in the country are former generals.

-- For example Egypt side in Sudan the Sudanese army (SAF) is fighting RSF which is heavily supported by UAE, a sponsor to the Egyptian economy, which prevented them from doing much to help their ally the SAF. Not to mention the RSF is also supported by Ethiopia, Egypt's archenemy. The RSF also humiliated Egyptians soldier in one of Sudan's bases, these soldiers were meant to train and exercise with Sudanese armed forces as a show of force from Egypt to Ethiopia, this was prior to the conlict of SAF vs RSF. It went badly

-- Another example is Houthis blockade, despite buying expensive navy equipment with Billions of dollars with the economic crisis, the Egyptian navy did nothing to stop the blockade.


I don't know how countering Ethiopia with Egypt will help us with UAE influence on FGS and Egypt. Two call of the Sheikh of Dubai to Egyptian president and HSM and it is over.

It's crazy how UAE has influence on everybody. They got tons of influence on Ethiopia/Egypt/FGS and Somaliland and Puntland. Djibouti did kick out UAE from controlling Djibouti ports but thats why UAE is pushing this agreement between Ethiopia and Somaliland as they want Djibouti ports to decline heavily. Djibouti really needs the 1.55 Billion USD Ethiopia pays Djibouti yearly.
