The economy is in the shits

It's really very fascinating how crazy this country functions.
It rained recently, breaking down newly bad-built roads and worsening those that had been shitty for years. It's incredibly fascinating to just see how bad the road is in every part of the city. And no one, not the government, not the fuckers using the road themselves, not businesses that suffer from the bad roads, not the residents that need to use these daily with jams and bumps, wants to come up with a solution. Everyone just drives - roads remain in puddles of grimy rainwater from months ago - emitting unbearable stench, causing jams. And everyone acts like they don't notice it.

In fact, people are quite hostile to complainants.

I am witnessing a kind of a novel national psychological phenomenon - a collective adaptation to extreme dysfunction.

More people are asking for deen but borrowing etiquette has evolved: no more pleading or soft words. Now it's all threats.
I swear three different relatives used threatening Mooryaan language today when they needed money. All three were women, kaaga daran. They used to be nice ladies. Fucking good aunties have gone wild.

This is not good.

Population does not reflect those in power. Roads are the governments problems not the peoples problems. Majority if not all of the country is poor and is just trying to survive. This is the result of an incompetent government

You always complaining, havent seen you say one positive thing

I don't deny that some Somalis have become morally apathetic to their situation, that naturally happens when you don't have a stable government for 30+ years but I don't agree that Somali society as a whole is undergoing a degeneration. All the progress Somalia has made despite its hardships is proof of that. Also, things like road management is the responsibility of the (useless) FGS.

The existence and success of the northern Somali states shatters any notion people have about Somalis. I straight up believe that if Puntland and Somaliland were recognized countries a long time ago, they would be amongst the richest countries in Africa right now.

FGS + Al-Shabab are nerfing the hell out of Somalia right now
