The situation is not getting better. Somalia is getting a little bit more coverage in western media, but that's not what we need.
This could have been avoided. Hopefully it'll rain in the coming days. We already have 1 million + IDPs and we can only expect there to be more now.

North Somalia is dry because of the Ethiopian highlands stealing all our rain. The Southern part of Ethiopia is not as high so more clouds reach South Somalia.
Also, there are dry winds blowing over from the dry Arabian peninsula.
Nothing about sin, stop being so unscientific.

His views are very common among Somalis.. whenever good things happens it is because God blessed them, when bad things happen it is because of sin. So ridiculous.
If this way of thinking was true they should be all worshiping America and Western Europe, lol. Clearly the most blessed.
That's what I'm saying the west is climbing in technological advancement, they are advancing more than we. We are to busy praying and not thinking why are we so poor ? What has the west got that we don't ? TBH the west has contributed in destabilising majority of the Middle East and Somalia. It was part of the bush administration plan, so I am not blaming Somalia at all for its decline in technology and scientific advancements, Somalia was heading towards this in the period of the 70s and 80s as well as Iran and Egypt, however the west has meddled and destroyed all concept of success in fear of nationalism becoming a threat to Europeans and American stability. It is the in fact the west along with its partner Saudia Arabia who have systematically destroyed each country and replaced it with ruthless dictator in addition to churning out wahabbi extremist mullahs who do nothing but stagnate and decline societies. As a consequence the contributing factors are a modern day result of the destruction of Somalia, Syria, Egypt soon Turkey and then Lebanon. Not to mention Afghanistan, Pakistan etc.
They are more sinful in west than us but still got rain, the famine has to do with mismanagement issues and natural phenomenals.
The west has contributed to the stagnation of Somalia where puppet leaders are placed by the west and al Shabab is funded by the Saudis. We are peaces of chest board where the elite are playing with us like pawns being eaten by the king and queens.

The Protestant West had this logic for some time with Calvinism. The blessed elect were rich, while the doomed were poor. This kick-started true capitalistic thinking (work, save, invest, profit, re-invest rinse and repeat). In Europe this ruthless capitalist worldview is slowly dying out, but in the US it is very much alive.
Somalis have the opposite problem, they view this world as temporary and don't make the best out of it similar to Europeans in the Middle Ages.
Which is why economic booms and crashes occur like 2008 financial crash, you can inflate a bubble so much before it pops again. This value of profit is making our debt even more impahomous than its predecessor 2008 financial crash. I hate this materialistic nature where corporatism and plutocracy rule amongst the sheep who diligently pray to be slaughtered. It is the value of debt and servitude to banks which creates this system of dependence. Our rules are not politicians but the men who create the fictitious fiat currency in which we owe our very existence to. They hold our names as liability of things were to disastrously wrong. The Victorian work house ethic will soon echoe loudly in present day 21st century western society, where children will one day beg to clean chimney sweeps for a few pennies

You can only have true capitalism with individualism. Tribalism is the antithesis of capitalism. Somalia can not develop because of this.
Saudi Arabia etc lucked out with oil, but if you want to get rich based on human capital you need to get rid of tribalism.
Tribalism is our most treasured fabric crafted by our ancestors, you cannot eliminate something which has remained stagnant in the minds of generations of Somalis. A tribe is the meaning of ones heratige, as a consequence ending such a tie is a very difficult path to take
