The Disgraceful Somali Practice To Undermine Each Other.

When a Somali business person opens up a shop that is successful, another one opens up shop right next door to him and undermines him, this has been going on for decades, I haven't seen another community with this type of Xaasidnimo

In Uganda a Somali business man opened up a Petrol station and began to make good money, shortly after another group of Somali's put money together and opened up a second Petrol Station directly opposite his one, as a result both are loosing money.

This story is the same regardless which country you go to, as a result everyone is loosing money or making marginal profits, were did the origin of this disease come from?

I've seen this in South Africa with my own eyes. Its crazy walahi:kanyehmm:

i dont know where you are from but that is very common here. chinese resturants next to each other, arab gas stations across each other. fast food chains in same block. there must be something to the formula.

i wanna make the distinction here between somalis being too dumb and prideful to understand that they're ruining their own income potential, and somalis who set up shop in gigantic enclaves in order to have a boost in revenue. in places like Minnesota it's the latter where somalis create malls in their own right to attract other ethnic groups and the white populous to come and spend money.

the former is economic suicide the latter can be profitable if you're smart enough and have some form of central management (or get mad lucky).

this video actually came to mind, but i don't know how applicable it is to somalis. they can't franchise this way.

Probably because they're risk averse and they see the existing Somali business as having a secure location. It's why they copy each other too - at least in the UK.

We need to diversify a bit if we want to operate in the same areas. Coffee/internet shop, car mechanic workshops, tailoring/clothes shops, mobile phones/computer shops, restaurant, supermarkets, tutoring/dugsi, money transfer + other services (e.g. insurance broker) = most Somali diaspora communities in a nutshell.

Those are malls and choke points were a lot of people visit hence it's not a big problem, the example of @Farah Uchiha with the video is also entirely different, Somalis do this kind of stuff even in remote places.

No community does this, two opposite restaurants in China town or a busy road were many people visits or shopping centres designed for this is a entirely different matter to the above.

that is how bazaars and malls work. the hijab stores still make enough money to warrant them staying there. how do you think malls become choke points. they offer variety in products and prices to warrant that traffic in the first place.
have you been to china town. that formula works otherwise they wouldn't be paying such high rents for small places.
