many sane somalis do nd ur delusional for believing otherwise

Yeah deculturalized qaxooti youth like yourself and thats not many Hardly any. Other than Internett trolls im pretty sure no Somali claims anything but Somali except for the gaalo wannabe youth in the west.

Keep in mind gaalo people like you have a deeply-rooted belief that Arabs have ownership over Islam or that Islam is associated with Arabs only and thats is why people point the finger at us accusing us of being Arabs, just. Because we are muslims projecting that inferiority at us and Maybe to a lesser degree because we are part of the arab league (economic & political reasons). We ourselves do not claim do not identify as Arab and this is a fact.

They Even did a survey on Arab league nations where they asked different nations apart of the league what they consider their race, nationality, ethnicity and culture is everyone except for Somalis said Arab. Somalis said Somali on everything.

So Yeah @Omar is right and you are delusional if you believe otherwise.

it is "deculturalized" somalis that disown sheikh Isaaq and sheikh Darood as their arab forefathers

werent u the one saying its normal for somali men to do traditionally female housework- u sure r true to ur somali roots lol

@'Omar i wasnt clear, its delusional for u to believe "no sane somali believes they descended from arabs"

Let me be clear, any somali person that thinks he is descended from arabs is either delusional or insane.

theirs a higher likelihood that theyre just ignorant but a minority r certainly delusional

my bottom line is many somalis explicitly believe somalis descended from arabs nd all somalis imply arab descent when they say "I am darood" or "I am isaaq"

So you think we identify as arab because of creationist myth of lineage tracing descent to the prophet Muhammed? Lool it has more to say about our love for the prophet rather than us claiming Arabs. Disown or not disown doesn't makes us any less somali nor any more arab. Cuz these lineages had very little to no importance in the Soomali Identity formation.

We named ourselves "Soomaals" and our language , culture and history is "Soomaali"....Oh How convient for people who allegedly think they Arabs we sure make it obvious that we aren't. Looool!

See it doesn’t fit relying on centuries old nomadic dwelling myths to support your argument because It doesn't line up with the contemporary and historical reality. At this point is just constant bombardment of empty rhetoric of Muslim = Arabic. Mostly driven by your contempt for the Somali people and the fact that we aint gaalos like you.

werent u the one saying its normal for somali men to do traditionally female housework- u sure r true to ur somali roots lol

I never said that, now you are lying really bad i was generally speaking of my own household being that my father does most of the cooking since he starts work in the evening to late at night and my mom from early in the morning to the evening, so it's not based on being not traditional merrily based on convience & time Schedules. notice i Even said it was non typical for Somali household as well. I have been -always defending how humans are biologically inclined to gender roles and how its part of nature

Using lies to back up an argument really?

@'Omar i wasnt clear, its delusional for u to believe "no sane somali believes they descended from arabs"

Nope omar is right and you are still delusional trying to perpetuate a false reality. We will Say it again "No sane Somali believes he is Arab" and you're delusional if you think otherwise.

Ignorant was the word I was looking for, but the hate that blinds the opposite camp isn't rational either is it.

A creation myth (or creation story) is a cultural, traditional or religious myth. Creation myths are the most common form of myth, usually developing first in oral traditions, and are found throughout human culture.

But it's only somalis like you who are insecure and get caught up in it no other cultures throughout the world are like this.

It's not about ignorance almost every society have bunch of creationist myths , ours is we descend from the prophet, for chinese and tibetiamst claim descent from Buddha, for japanese it's descend from two deities.

Yet it's very unimportant and has zero impact on japanese or chinese identity formation. Even the anthropologist who first recorded these lineages pointed it out.

And also it's Incorrect again "Arab" is not a lineage, ethnicity or race. It is a cultural Identity

The Prophet said, “Whoever speaks Arabic is an Arab”.

So it doesn't imply arab descent at all even if they do say it. I mean many subclans from darood have the name waaq in it.

Nice sidestepping troll, like I argued you claiming a lineage descent to the prophet does not mean we identify as arab is does not make us arab or imply it

Wether they believe in creationist myths or not makes no difference, since it always been irrelevant in the identity formation especially Somali identity formation.

There is war on Islam and those that don't like Islam very often hide behind some vague concepts.. We the Somali people(the majority) are not arabs yet muslims.. Deal with it!

Only in the online world will you see this shit. Where the insane will claim most Somalis aren't Muslim, or most Somalis reject their abtirsi. Just having a look on facebook (especially the Somaliland page) would debunk this fantasy instantaneously with all of their "Duriyada banu hashim" banter. You have people on here who despise these "myths" admitting their family still believe in them for the most part, such as:

My father showed me a list of names, the sheet was nearly 50 pages long. It started off with basic Somali names, sida loo waday, "abu something" ayaanbo galnay. Abu Shamama Abu talala Abu kafala. I;m like, :faysalwtf: all these ABU'S tho :yacadiim:

I've had this conversation with many relatives, and they think Im insane. The Fobs are the worst
"Carab baanu nahay" kulahaa :browtf:

I can't really take my family seriously since they believe they're Arabs.

Let's be real here. The only place you'll ever find Somali youth denying their abtirsi and Arab ancestry is on these obscure forums. In the real world, most would get violent with you quickly if you were to tell them their abtirsi is a myth. Even the respected AY believed and propagated this apparent "myth",

"“Ma ogtahay in awoowgey la yiraahdo C/raxmaan Ismaaciil C/samad Aljabarti, waxay awooweyaashey kasoo haajireen dalka Yeman iyagoo khilaaf Yeman ka dhacay ay uga soo carareen, sidaas ayaa naaneys looga dhigay beesheyda (*******), waana beesha uu ka soo jeeday Madaxweynihii hore ee Soomaaliya Maxamed Siyaad Barre, waana Beesha ugu badan Soomaalida” ayuu yiri Madaxweyne C/llaahi Yuusuf".

Let's get real here, folks. :chrisfreshhah:
