The dark history of the country yall live in

how well has the education system taught you guys about your countries dark history. im really curious about other countries like UK, canada, Some of the MENA countries as well.

i honestly think the US did okay. youth have been learning about civil rights, slavery, racism, stealing of land from the indians since they like they were 6 years old atleast. its starts off pretty fake as a child cause they want kids to know that the natives and whites interacted all friendly like but as the years go by you start to here more serious stuff and by the time you graduate high school you understand how evil af the white people were by massacring and killing the native americans.
racism slavery and civil rights were taught probably from late elementary school to high school. so you get the trend whites were racist af back in the day.(till this day my ass don't want to go to alabama cause that state was racist af back in the day)

do your countries just lie to students and never teach kids about their dark history.

i think germany's history with nazis fucked them up bad so now they trying their best to show they aren't nazis anymore. They are still shamed about their history till this day. but they still have nazi ideology lurking there

I think self-criticism is good for all nations. History shouldn't be white washed. Every country should learn what its ancestors got upto, warts and all. We'd see that we all have a history of bloodshed and warfare. No race is exempt. We've all wronged somebody sometime. Africans were slaves sure, but Africans had slaves too before Europeans and Arabs put them in shackles.

All of this should be exposed to young people instead of the black and white nonsense they get from SJWs where it's all about the blue eyed devil.

They should be more broad. Most only talk about the bad history of whites. One thing I really like about African Americans is that they fought hard against racism and they still do. They get free housing, free schooling, free healthcare, free money. The only people who suffered were the slaves. Their descendants have lived much better lives than they would have if their parents had never been taken from Africa.

Sure, they've not always been equal to the cadaan, but a second class status in a rich country is better than living in a dirt poor country with high rates of infant mortality, malaria and HIV Aids.

All professionals have worked their butt off. Blacks should be grateful for the opportunities America gives them. Even the lowest African American has a quality of life superior to kings of the 19th century. Instead they go in for victimology and grievance mongering. Some are cool as f*ck though. I like Jesse Lee Patterson. He tells blacks the truth about the dark side of their own culture and their own history.

How I see it, every country needs a Jesse Lee Patterson. For whites it's Howard Zinn. He wrote the classic book on the bloody side of United States history. It's on the college syllabus. Tarek Fatah does a good job for Muslims and South Asians. We need more self criticism and less triumphalism and false victimhood narratives.
