I think both sides should come to a compromise. Federal states are understandably anxious about handing power to a more centralized state.
Meanwhile being president over "Somalia" should be more than a glorified mayor of Xamar. Not to mention geopolitical threats around Somalia call for a more unified political landscape.
The thing about federalism in Somalia is that it has a history of undermining the central goverment whether from Garowe or Kismayo. Which is against the previous versions of the consitution if I'm correct.

However this whole time I've only seen one side willing to comprise while the other continue with absolutist politics.
In my opinion FGS as done plenty of things wrong that warrants skepticsm. However the same thing can be said the FMS that undermine the nation's sovereignty and authority. Which is a breach of federalism in general.
Whether concerns about dictatorship or the need to maintain the status quo for personal gain. The consitution needs to be resolved and accepted by everyone if we are to move forwards.
