Qabri Dahar is the second largest town in Ethiopian Somali region..It is developing fast, hence we are talking about it...
It's in the center of the Somali region which makes it a vital airport. Other then that no large towns.

I can't wait for the Qabri Dahar road to be extended to Wardheer and on to Galkacyo. Qabri Dahar is located in a place of abundant groundwater and a stream that runs for 2 months each year. It is actually one of the better places to locate a city outside the shabelle valley in DDSI.
Godey is also developing...but for now Qebri Dahar seems to get more priority next to Jijiga...there will be new University and Stadium to be Inagurated there in 2018..
Godey is not comparable to Jigjiga or to Qabri Dahar. Godey will become the economic engine of DDSI and wil overtake both towns in due time. The Ethiopians moved the capital from Godey because they were afraid of the development of a lowland power center in which their authority had never been accepted. Godey Zone has always been the most important in DDSI because that is where the potential is. Those 300 kms of floodplain from Iimey to Qalaafe is the most important feature in DDSI, ful stop. Jigjiga will never have the same potential for capital generation as Godey Zone.
