The average 23 year old vs the average 53 year old

Gen Z is the least sexually active generation.
Less sex still does not mean "little sex" and you also have to factor in the weird social climate with COVID and trends. Generally, the West is already hypersexual.

There is also that for Muslims, the number of promiscuity grows because the nature of our trends goes toward the gaalo, not contracting. Our dynamics don't mirror theirs.

The issue with the articles that reference random studies is that they lack contextual explanations. Take this paragraph, for example:

"UCLA has been tracking behavioral trends for years through its annual California Health Interview Survey, the largest state health survey in the nation. It includes questions about sexual activity. In 2021, the survey found, the number of young Californians ages 18 to 30 who reported having no sexual partners in the prior year reached a decade high of 38%. In 2011, 22% of young people reported having no sexual partners during the prior year, and the percentage climbed fairly steadily as the decade progressed."

The time surveyed during this study claim was highly unusual because of the aggregate social problems, where environments for meeting up were blocked. They took the least unrepresentative year, formed a broad conclusion, and then claimed a whole generation as less sex willing when the circumstances were unique.

The 38% was a decrease from 22% a decade earlier, but considering the inhibitions because of lockdowns, the social distancing, and the general disease scare, that number is probably not out of the ordinary (by the trends of a population where over 95% women are not virgins by the time they marry).

Sexual inactivity doesn't imply complete abstinence. :ftw9nwa: A dry spell doesn't mean you are a virgin. Forgoing hook-up culture doesn't mean they are not having sex. From what I have read, they want more meaningful romantic relationships. Most of those reporting no sexual partners among Gen Z are heterosexual men (experiencing a delayed start at life milestones and greater financial instability). I can't speak for the women. What I have read about Gen Z is they are more sexually fluid/more likely to identify as a sexual minority than millenials and Gen X.

I haven't read up on religious minorities (i.e. Muslims), but I hypothesize that they are more sexually conservative than their more secular/non-Muslim counterparts. The reason is that there is more of an expectation of abstaining from sex before marriage. Whereby chastity is considered a value. And this is more emphasized among women. There are also greater negative costs of not conforming (reputational and health). I would wager the divorce rate among Muslims is probably lower than the average American. I can't speak for it based on ethnic breakdown, let alone with Somalis. It's more so anecdotal.
