The truth isn’t hard for me because I knew the arms embargo wouldn’t be lifted. I just don’t see a Somali that is free from Shabaab whilst under arms embargo. Today isn’t like 1991. Clans that should have been afraid back then aren’t the same as the ones who would be at a disadvantage if it was lifted today
I agree with you clans that rely on foreign intervention and can’t fight are fucked but FGS needs to be the only one in control of these weapons not civilians.
FGS needs to control all the ports too, Right now most weapons are smuggled from Yemen on a boat could you imagine smuggling tanks, artillery, rockets, missiles.
the other thing is the west doesn’t want the embargo removed, if HSM goes to the Russians and Chinese they can remove it through veto but he relies too much on the west.

80% of arms embargo will be lifted just not fully free like the other countries. Helicopter is not dangerous like the drones. No drones only friendly country can help us witth them. Most important is the artillery we will get this inshallah

November is the month for arms embargo and IMF debt relief. Good leap for Somalia.
Easy to say, Somalias government is powerful enough to say things of this sort. Even western countries don’t make these kind of demands unless they offered an incentive in the form of money for each gun brought to the government. For example I heard in Australia, following the port Arthur massacre, the country banned all guns but to make it easier to follow it paid for every gun brought in.
Not only does every somali and their mum have a gun, some have heavier weapons and teknicald and armoured vehicles and we’re no where near rich enough to buy all these from everyone.
Plus buying security (paying for everyone’s guys brought in) only works well in a society where everyone is willing to follow instructions and be civil, Somalis only know authority, we’re not a civil people
