It's a sad thing for sure, the last thing ethiopia needs now is religious/sectarian violence. we have enough to deal with.
and now you have all kinds of theories-some are saying abiy did it, some say egypt, some say amhara extremists aided by the federal and local governments, etc.

It seems a new tactic to divide between the amhara cowards, there is no single incident that occur inside Ethiopia(excluding tigray) without the Gov't giving the green light.
But just to state some facts, Ethiopian muslims except somalis, are a bunch of self-destructing weirdos, they are nationalists before Islam and had never showed loyalty to islam
They pay huge price in the power struggles of their respective ethnicities yet they are put atlast, see how oromo muslims who suffered most for an oromo cause are now deprived of the key governmental positions from federal to regional level.
I personally know few wollo muslims, they usually told me how they were oppressed by the successive regimes but still they're staunch ethiopianists, during the tigray invasion of amhara these wollo muslims were mobalising themselves and fighting back selflessly like they are engaging in jihad but now their christain kins are beating the shit out of their muslim brothers in gondar.
These muslims should reconsider their choices or just embrace the result of their miscalculations

Egypt is the boogieman. People who even mentions Egypt are missing the frontal lobe. It doesn't matter what the ethnicity of the perpetrators. They were kuffar and they killed Muslims. Muslims in Ethiopia are under occupation as much as Somalis are. They trick the Muslims with ethnic nationalism and causes hate amongst each other. Muslims who I believe to be the majority should unite and take over the country. They should not befriend or ally themselves with their christian or pagan counterpart. Oromo Muslim should completely cut their ties to Oromo Christians and reconciliate with their Amhara Muslim brothers and Sisters
