Tanzania's Massive Ivory Stockpile! Africans Need To Establish An Ivory Industry!

Why is it that Asia gets to profit from elephant ivory sales but not Africa. Their should be ivory crafting shops all over Tanzania and other elephant rich countries. Their should be ivory quotas and certifications. Africans need to tell these animal rights organizations to f*ck off!

Kenya burning their resources just because Western activists told them to! :farmajoyaab:

I would like to hunt some elephants from time to time. However, they mustn’t be over-hunted so as to make them go extinct

Bro it was these Europeans that wiped out most of them because they did not put quotas. The Europeans made a lot of money from this. Then when African countries got independence they want to ban ivory sales. You can't make this stuff up. Now africans can't make money from their own wildlife resources.

Somalia almost wiped out their elephant population cos the Kacaan were killing Elephants for their ivory.

The US ambassador at the time investigated and found that elephant carcasses were littered across national parks.

Furthermore, all that ivory was stockpiled in a government warehouse in Xamar just because the Kacaan wanted to manipulate global ivory prices.

There was 27 million elephants before full scale colonialism in Africa and by1970 there was only one million. The Europeans were the only ones profiting.

That's crazy. I imagine the reproductive rate for a large animal like the elephant exhausts energy and time per calf, so the population growth in the span of decades will be very low. The only way some of those animals will gain ground is if Africans drastically depopulate the continent and the environment naturally present favorable conditions (even that is not for granted).

Human activity alone going forward with how rapidly the continent is changing, even if all poaching practices are ended, will undoubtedly pose challenges for the conditions on which many animals are reliant.

Where did all that ivory go after the state's collapse?
