NBA's Toronto Raptors forced to leave Canada to begin season in Florida | CNN
The Toronto Raptors will not begin the upcoming NBA season playing in front of hometown fans.
The Canadian government shot itself in the foot by keeping Canada’s only basketball team out of Canada for at least this season. The team and the NBA presented a plan that the government agreed with but for some reason they dragged their feet. The NBA has a lot of resources to control covid as was evident in the bubble.
Anyway, they’ll play in the southeast division this season in Tampa, FL. They'll likely win the division and have a higher seed than they would've had if they remained in the Atlantic division.
