horrifying I wonder how many people here would support something similar, sometimes its hard to tell on this forum.
Bangladesh became one of the fastest growing economies and is on pace to have a trillion dollar GDP while already surpassing India and Pakistan. This only became possible because they decreased the education gap for women which also caused a steep decline in their fertility rate. Denying education to half the population will destroy Afghanistan in the long run.
Even the women only institutions? I'd like to hear their reasoning.

i think muslim countries are doing this because they want to go against everything the "west" stands for. So, if the west does something (in this case like allowing women to have normal lives for the most part) then muslims feel the need to go against that. Probably has something to do with colonization.
Imagine oppressing 50% of your fellow believers all to make a stand. It wouldn’t be far off to believe that they don’t see 50% of their population as actual people. Just props they use to make a stand at the expense of their lives. For too long a lot of Muslim men would argue that the West objectifies women. But what do you call it then when you strip women lof autonomy and render them as objects, albeit private ones?
To add everyone. Throughout history, oppressed groups have always been banned from getting an education. From the White Americans banning African slaves to the Roman and Greeks banning their foreign slaves from seeking an education. It is a known tactic throughout the centuries used to those that you want to keep under your thumb.

Polygamy would solve this tbh.
Edit: allow me to clarify, polygamy would reduce the amount of work done in the household by each wife. This would allow women to attend university without neglecting their duties as mothers and as wives.

Afghanis are not fighting for their rights so honestly who cares. It's clear they align with the Taliban. Why did the previous government collapse so easily in just a few months in that huge country? The capital captured like taking candy from a baby. Did the Taliban even need to fire a shot to capture Kabul? All I recall was that they walked in from the outskirts of the city in their dacas, some without even an AK. How did their armed forces surrender to the Taliban despite all their training and weaponry and being more sophisticated than them? It's because they agree with the Taliban which is why everyone got amnesty. The Taliban knew people were just trying to feed themselves and were not really "traitors". The Pashtuns I know here are pro Taliban even though they lead gaal lifestyles so what does that tell you? Even the women at university agree with the Taliban except for a few dozen who will protest in their minds.
Expect this in Somalia soon. Women were showing their hair and wearing skirts pre 1991. Now, every third woman wears a niqab and rocks are thrown at men for wearing basketball shorts in Hargeisa of all places, forgot about Al Shabab controlled areas.
This is a virus. You cannot beat it. Its not the terrorists that are the main problem but the populace. They want the Taliban. They want Al Shabab. Let them have it but contain the virus within their borders. Don't trust anyone coming from these countries. Shoot anyone on sight who leaves their borders. It's best to let these countries to self destruct.
Take out the successor to AMISOM and Al Shabab will take over the whole south and sleeper cells in Puntland and Somaliland will activate and the populace will welcome Al Shabab in Bosaso and Hargeisa. The biggest support for Al Shabab in all Somali lands is in Burco in fact.

I don't think anyone in Puntland or Somali land support Al Shabab.
It's a movement of childish reactionaries. You can tell a lot of these groups have a huge inferiority complex. I understand Western imperialism/colonialism (and its ideologies) has seeped into every facet of our lives but you have to play your cards right.
It also happened right after European colonization with hijab. When scores of upper class Muslim women took on Western style dress.. it triggered a movement enforcing hijab. Muslims historically took no issue when poorer women and slaves dressed in less clothes. This dynamic changes when dressing like a European carries some sort of prestige, a return to perceived Islamic dress would then become a movement of self-confidence in your own beliefs. Its an ego thing.
* Note: I do believe in and endorse the benefits of veiling Islamically.

Let the African troops leave. Somalia will be take over in less than 30 days. All Somalis need to be told is "ma gaal ba tahay?" and they'll fall in line. No Somali will fight Al Shabab or even stage one protest without African troops infront of them (and even then it'll be extremely limited).

I said I support them winning against the US. As for this, I have no idea what's going on there. There's nothing in Islam that says women can't go to university. But are they actually against women going to university or is there some temporary reason? I saw someone say it was because they didn't have the funds to pay the teachers. The Taliban are Deobandis, I am not. But I support Muslims fighting US invasion, that is what I supported. But I don't follow the same understanding of Islam as they do and I don't know much about Deobandis.
