I already know that. The whole point was that Jolani wasn't against US. From the getgo was pragmatist
“Pragmatism” is when you do things that you yourself previously considered grounds for Takfir. He’s just a sellout, move on from it.
Do you want him to continue the way he was and fight everyone? That would be a good way to balkanizing Syria and also lose more land to their neighbor.

It really comes down to what is more important to you, your ideals or the safety and prosperity of your people? I think there should be some self respecting limit to pragmatism. Can’t be a complete bootlicker but, personally, I find it quite childish when some put their ideals above the lives of their followers and “subjects”. Shows a certain immaturity. That one’s emotions come before human lives.
No attack on you when I say this. Just my personal, general view of matters like this.

Just recently the Americans killed an innocent man on charges that he was “ISIS”. He wasn’t.
Just before that, they drone strikes a retireee on the basis that he wasn’t “Al-Qaeda”. He wasn’t.
If this is “peace” and “prosperity” to you, I don’t know what to say.

Not saying that’s what is happening in Syria. But it seems to me that the thesis of some people is indeed that they’d rather fight and live in poverty and constant fighting than compromise their ideals. I find that immature for a leader of people to hold as a view.
Both cases were in Syria. And he’s playing with the lives of his own citizens.
