Surah Yusuf can be interpreted in many ways, countless of themes beaming in this optimistic & long Surah. But my take is interesting and really touching. ALL through the Surah shines amazing themes of Jealousy, Betrayal, Revenge, Seduction, Beauty, Dreams, etc etc - i think the most touching theme for me is LOVE.

Prophet Yaquub pbuh LOVE for his son Yusuf Pbuh. This Surah highlights the LOVE of a father to his son. Its so touching. The fact that Yaquub pbuh cried for his son Yusuf for many years is sheer power of LOVE. Also, it is LOVE that begins the story of this story. Elder brothers being Jealous of their younger brother, because they perceived he was LOVED More.

These brothers were jealous for the excessive LOVE shown to the child. And also this child having had that special dream where he will be exalted. He will be prophet.

This Surah is so powerful walaahi. If you have been wronged, take it as a blessing. Never revenge. Because if you revenge you have ruined your justice from ALlaah. swt. Worst you have ruined your chance of being raised to success by Allaah swt. In essence your sufferings will be in vain.

LOVE is a powerful theme is this Surah. A father crying until he goes blind? Wow! Is there a more powerful testament to LOVE?

Yes. So many themes/lessons/etc, in this Surah. It shows that, the one who fears Allaah and has strong faith in him, will be successful in the end, both in this temporary world and in the end. Yusuf, alayis salam, was plotted against by his own blood, throw into a well, sold for a cheap price, and went through a lot, but in the end, look: he ended up in a powerful position in the land AND reunited with all of his loved ones.
Yes, his father loved him so much that, to hear that his son was missing or harmed, made him cry until he was blind. Even in that, is a lesson. He did not complain to anyone but Allaah.

Here's an even better version of it:

The sun and moon dream about his parents getting explained at the end is also amazing.
