I just know more restrictions are coming. They're going to make booster shots mandatory and consider that the new fully vaxxed. 2 shots will no longer be enough. The most mutated variant so far, having as many mutations in one single variant, that have the characteristic of the infamous one, Delta and many others in this one new variant called B.1.1.589 which started spreading in SA and Botswana.

It looks like that the overlords saw your thread the other day about Africa, and launched a heavily mutated variant that spreads like fire on a bush.

This version of the severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has over 50 mutations in total with over 30 changes to the spike protein. While many of these mutations have already been present in other existing SARS-CoV-2 variants, such as that darn Delta variant, this B.1.1.529 variant could be the winner if a “variant with the most mutations” title were awarded today.

The immune protection from either vaccination or previous infection is likely oriented towards earlier versions of the spike protein and the virus. It's not about SA or me caring for that country, but there is a new variant that has many characteristics of previous variants, including delta. So, you can imagine how that can effect the rest of the world
