Not really, Elephants were in the courts of the Kushites and Axumites, so it being used in Mogadishu would be another example of their importance in Northeast African history as a prestige animal.

But Somali nomads usually ride camels for transportation and warfare. Can you show the full reference to the source? Which period was this? Was this during the rule of the Muzzafar or Fakhruddin dynasties?

Somalis didn't ride camels you nacas we rode horses.

And thus wasn't nomads this was Mogadishu, inhabited and ruled by Reer Magaal Somali. So naturally their animals would be different to the Geelgire
