The thing is if Somaliland had a Majority Share in Berbera id 100% Support it but they don't
@Lordilord gave his view that beacuse Somaliland isn't internationally recognised the port deal was the best they could get. Understandable but what will Somaliland do if recognised tomorrow.
Then I would hope there is a some renegotiating of the deal.

Short term the deal is bad but long term it's alright. We have no leverage today but we will most definitely have good leverage in the long run.

Puntland is a bear still in hibernation for years and years...

Why hasnt no one signed a deal to connect Boosaaso to Ethiopia by seeking foreign investment?

DP World's small subsidiary P&O Ports controls Bosaso port now. The deal is very secretive P&O probably got a 80% or higher stake that's why.

Also Bosaso's worsening security situation is starting to become a black eye on the face of Puntland

Puntland could have probably gotten a good deal with Qatar if they waited, I mean other than Somaliland why would Puntland actually trust Dubai government?

They show no respect for Somali government and Puntland is a part of it. If possible Bosaaso port concession should be cancelled for Qatar or any other non biased company/country.

Qatar operates no real ports anyehere, this is a test run for them of course Sudan will get a larger piece. Qataris only know a little bit more about ports than sudanis already do, why the heck would Sudan give them a majority? DP world on the other hand runs state of the art ports across the world including in Turkey and many other middle east countries.

There's a saying that you get what you pay for , and with DP World it's gonna be a premium. Qatar on the other hand is very small and just starting to scratch the surface in learning how to manage an important port. They are amatuers so of course you will always get better deal with the amatuer
