Interesting. I've seen a similar drawing of southern somalia in 1850s with a similar setting. A lot of somali kids use to learn how to read, write and recite the quran by heart. There is no estimate as to how many somalis that use to do so but it's culturally ingrained into the somali psych and it has survived until this very day. This could mean that the literacy rate of somalis might've been very high back in time and these very same letter they learned for quran were also used for the somali language and the writing was called far wadaad or far guri. Amazing that we have a picture of this mashallah.

Did somalis know you can cut the rest of the log off? Why is there bits just sticking out?
Don't know wallahi this is how i did it i guess you could say one would be able to write more on a longer loox so it made sense to a certain degree. You could also say it's the somali style of loox.

What is interesting is that writing on loox such as these wasn't unique to somalis cause many other muslims were also taught to write on it. Matter of fact writing on similar loox predates islam and been used by other culture. Bro don't roast us like you did in the other post.

Here is different styles of loox.

you can do that?! :dwill: how tf do they know where each color belongs? :williamswtf:
I think they mostly guess

It would be easy for environmental things, the grass is green, dirt is brown ect.

But for clothing it is mostly guessing game or at least that's how it was a couple years ago. Who knows what ai can do at the moment, I can't keep up :damn:

It's using sources and determining what fabrics look like and what that area would have access to and how it did look.
Basically an investigation into what colors were even viable at that time.
