The stench of 1969 is getting stronger.

Power hungry populist promising an 'election' while cozying up to the Russians.

Wonder how soon this one will be discarded and where he will flee to.

Do you honestly think a dictatorship is possible in Somalia?

In 1969 it was a military leader that took over Somalia not a politician, in fact the politician was assassinated due to the same problems we are facing today.

Somalia already got an indefinite extension in September 17, the recent parliament simplu stated within 2 years an election must occur. The NIEC which is an independent organisation will manage the elections not the FGS, we will also see UN watchdogs etc to watch the election.

The lower house parliament was also elected in HSM era and has power over elections.

The Russians are broke (i mean just look at how the Russian guy is dressed), due to western sanctions due to actions in Ukraine and are in no financial shape to replace the 200 million + dollars that the western donors donate annually.

Turkey is also in financial trouble due to Lira inflation and general economic mismanagement.๐Ÿ“‰

China is very cautious when it comes to financial investments in unstable areas, have you ever wondered why they invest in so many African nations but have avoided Somalia?

Instability. They don't want to invest in a country where a random boon can undue everything. :mugshotman:

After their billion dollar plus oil investments in Libya blew up they avoid trouble spots like the plague.....:gunsmiley::gunsmiley::cryinglaughsmiley:

Looks like the FGS will face financial issues for the next two years....๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ’ต๐Ÿ”ฅ

Not true. They are not broke, not even close of that

Dictatorship will not occur in Somalia, it cannot and will not occur.

1969 was a different case, the politician AUN was assassinated due to Internal Tribal issue, it wasn't commissioned by nobody. The assassination paved way for the wave of military coup to take over. Today and 1969 are not the same, nowhere near being the same. Today, its a case of political decision. If NN was 1 tribe, fine. But it ain't.

Additional strong sanctions added just today.....:russ:

In the first quarter of 2020, the dollar's share of trade between Russia and China fell below 50% for the first time on record, according to recent data from Russia's Central Bank and Federal Customs Service.
The greenback was used for only 46% of settlements between the two countries. At the same time, the euro made up an all-time high of 30%, while their national currencies accounted for 24%, also a new high.

The construction of the controversial natural gas pipeline Nord Stream 2 has been delayed for more than a year and completion is increasingly at risk after the U.S. imposed sanctions on involved companies and threatened further steps. The pipeline under the Baltic Sea has been the subject of heated debate for years. The project would allow additional Russian gas to flow directly to Germany. Proponents argue the pipeline is a commercial investment that is key to Europe's supply security, while opponents criticise Nord Stream 2 on environmental, geopolitical, and security grounds. [UPDATE U.S. state sec Blinken calls on involved companies to immediately abandon work on the pipeline]

London โ€” A second Russian pipelaying vessel is now headed for Danish waters to join the operation to lay the almost-complete Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline from Russia to Germany, the pipeline development company said March 31.

As Constanze Stelzenmรฏยฟยฝller observes in her latest column (Opinion, March 24) the Russian-German Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is a problem that defies easy solutions. US lawmakers are pushing the Biden administration to sanction any and all entities associated with the project. The White House, in turn, is responding with tougher rhetoric against the pipeline. The US has an economic interest in ensuring Russia doesnรฏยฟยฝt become Europeรฏยฟยฝs energy supplier of choice. But on balance, there is a real debate to be had about whether the benefits of stopping Nord Stream 2 are worth the costs. Those costs donรฏยฟยฝt receive much attention, but they are considerable.Stelzenmรฏยฟยฝller rightly explains how pressuring Berlin on the matter would sully the very US-German relationship Biden hopes to improve. Stressing a key diplomatic relationship, however, is just the start. As strange as it may sound, killing the Russian pipeline could inadvertently harm Americaรฏยฟยฝs long-term financial power. Freezing out European companies participating in the project will give allies, partners and adversaries alike even more of an incentive to gradually distance themselves from the US dollar, while reducing their reliance on US banks for their transactions

Mashallah FGS has taken my advice and and in response to the vampires in Xalane we shall chart new allies. I hope Emir Putin sends us those Russians to defeat the terror threat and remove AMISOM.

Farmaajo is bluffing. his advisors are crazy if they think they can bring the americans around by threatening them with russia.

Countries are supposed to fund themselves. Being a charity case and bringing out the begging bowl is not normal. Our whole country cannot run on pittance aid. There is no way we can develop that way.

What the Europhiles from PL and JL dont realize is that America and the West are on the decline. Russia and China support a multipolar world where there is no "world policemen" which allows a fledgling nation like Somalia to rise like a Phoenix from the ashes. America is falling rapidly in debt which is owned by China. Only Trump can save them in 2024. We hope for his graceful return.

no. you'll turn somalia into a playground for beefing superpowers who wanna test their latest weapons.

stupid.
It is already worse than a playground with complete Western domination. Other countries have relationships, why are we forbidden. I thought you were laandheere, are you only tough against poor Somalis.
