There’s never been no such thing as darood the only tribes that use that term is MOD mareexan Ogaden and dhulbhante. Majeerteen has never been allies of other daroods perfect example is during the mad mullah sayiidka the terrorist likewise siad barre the gaal dictator all of darood ganged up against maxamud saleeban.

@Armadillo you're wrong siad barre didn’t target Majeerteen only maxamud saleeban.

SSDF when they were caught, they would be given a choice of joining the army and serve under General Morgan, This led to much of them joining the army and stop the rebellion in 1986.
Somali historian Taisir Ali also writes.

"With funds and Clan appeals, Barre was able to convince much of the SSDF to leave Ethiopia and join his government..."

Anything that happened after 1986, Mj were also part of big time including the campaigns against SNM in the north.
So that's why most don't curse Barre like others despite also having suffered from his regime

If people gonna judge Barre based on his religiosity, they should know Islam cuts all ways. All somali leaders and their rebel opponents weren't saints religion wise. Somalis weren't religious in the 70s and 80s like they are today, it wasn't unique to barre and you can confirm with your parents.
Clan was everything, So even if Barre had ruled with shariah law, democracy or socialism, his supporters would've remained the same, his opponents would've still been the same.
Its not like SNM, SSDF,SPM and USC were motivated by islam by going against Barre, it was pure clan politics.
So I wonder why people gotta add Islam by criticizing Barre yet they support their rebel clan leaders who weren't different
