She needs to f*ck off tbh it doesn’t make sense for her to talk about horners, she should speak about congo or something else tf
Internet does this shitty thing that gives off a la la land racist view of Africa as a imaginary collective consciousness

Everyone should be seen as a individual.

I agree with her.
I don't understand why so many East Africans online, specifically the Horn, adopted this insanely degenerate behavior. Is it the result of Arabization? Is it the result of European presence in our countries and the many harmful colonial writings so many Horners fall for? or Both? Trolls or not, I don't understand what one would gain from being so ignorant (especially towards the people that you are close to and have never wronged you)?

South Sudanese can connect great with Kenyans, Ethiopians, Congolese, Ugandans, Tanzanians, etc. because they do have a lot in common with each other. I didn't watch that stitched video so I don't know if I misunderstood that isolated part but the key for that is to communicate and have an active (online) community. Somalis would've 100% been ignored if it wasn't for our big internet presence and having a loud attention seeking community.

Both n.duoth and the.east.eats have valid responses, but I'm siding with n.duoth.
I love Daya's page (theeasteats) and it does make sense to me why she started off posting about the Horn...

BUT

If you're going to have a page dedicated to representing EAST AFRICA, you should be going out of your way to interact and represent other East African countries/cultures you're not familiar with. It's not even that hard to reach out with non-HOA East African influencers, she could've tried going to different kinds of East African restaurants too.
How is she able to rep a North African Arab country that shares little to no similarities with East Africans (aka North Sudan) before posting anything about ACTUAL East African countries like Burundi!?!!?

I think her page is an amazing idea nonetheless. Just a little critique because I've been following her page for a while-ish now and most of her videos/posts are just Somali, Oromo, and Arab (North African) content. She barely has any food content too :(

I've never seen somali say anything bad about S sudanese people. If she is talking about internet trolls, little does she know these guys attack somali women, somalis from other tribes, south vs north, european somalis v NA somalis. They're incredibly malicious and vitriolic people. they need quran saar to soften their brittle hearts
