There is nothing wrong with being proud of your history. Laakin i think some people use history as a cope. Particularly white nationalists but I have seen it in other groups. They lack personal achievments in life so they have to hold on to the past and achievments of their ancestors to feel superior. They are stuck in history. Do you guys agree?
That's one way, a very one dimensional way, of looking at it. We live in the age of the atomised individual. Humans are designed to be connected to their in group. This has always been their genetic kin, their extended family ie their clan, tribe and village. The stories we learn as kids used to revolve around real people we're descended from. Or at the very least share an identity with. The idea the blood in your veins has lived before, 100s of lives and their collective memory that was passed down so you can make sense of the world. Those timeless tales is what history was. Not facts we memorise to pass an exam.
And looking at their history, f*ck yh they're proud. They conquered and explored the world. They went to the corners of the earth and reached the stars. They fought and squabbled amongst themselves for thousands of years. They have thousands of Ahmed Gureys.
