We can bemoan the past but that won't do anything, the state is very slowly moving forward and while this isn't the best look you take what you get. Firstly 10 years isn't as insane as I thought, no longer than two presidential terms. Secondly this is no different from much of the global south, in fact Djibouti penned a deal with Turkey soon after.

If the Turks are willing to help us with policing the water and training naval force in exchange for sea food then that's fair.

Bro if you think about it our statehood is in its infantcy. There are people today that were around to see the independence day. I get feel disheartened by the utter mess we are in but there is little we can do worrying ourselves over it. I agree 100% it'll take a long time and some of us won't get the luxury of lounging in a peaceful Somalia but that's life. We put our faith in Allah and pray for a great future leader.

Check the definition of a vassal state, its a state that pledges allegiance to and provides economic/military support to a more powerful nation. Also a vassal state has no say in its own foreign policy. Are the turks controlling how and who the somali government has connections with?.

This is merely a decade long agreement for Turkey to extract resources and secure our seas, as we have been unable to do this ourselves since the advent of the civil war.

Not only will this mean more money coming in to the fgs directly via this deal, more money will enter somalia indirectly from the international community and multinational corporations providing foreign direct investment due to increase in security supplied by the turks.

Pretty much every nation or civilisation has been influenced and cooperated with a more advanced power in order to develop, for rome its was the estruscans and the greeks, for Japan it was the United States and for the United States it was the British empire.
