As I've said before Somalis are too marriage obsessed. We need a cultural shift. When I was twenty-two/twenty-three I was focused on pursuing my academic and professional goals. Hustling to make a better life for myself and my family. That stupid Somali bridal page is selling dreams to these young impressionable people. She needs to shut it down.

I agree there needs to be a cultural shift however we still need to constantly have marriage at the back of our minds. I'm working on my future right now so I can make a lot of money but it is all in preparation for when I have kids so I can take care of them without relying simply on a man.
