Somalis and working for foreign governments

This is regarding Somalis who clearly work for foreign countries.

With the collapse of the central government we have witnessed an infiltration and people who through contact established themselves as agents.

They mainly work with the British, Americans, Emiratis, Qataris, Ethiopians, Eritreans, Turks, Egyptians and the Chinese.

They advocate for their adopted countries or they used to live in maybe out of greed or loyalty.

What do you think?

What do i think? Can anyone even name one Somali official or politician who isn't influenced by outside forces, the Turkish base and Gulf ports proved that all are. I'm not saying its a bad development, just that foreign influence is present.

Xooshdheere and descended of fiqi I agree.

This is not a moral judgement incrimination of sorts.

The people at hand might not commit treason or espionage of their own accord but it is promoting their adopted countries for little personal gain.

They work for Kenya, Uganda, Djibouti, Italy, Iran and tiny unheard countries. I would not be surprised having someone working for the Iraqi government (that example is not far off as Iraq and Somalia used to have special relations and there are many Iraqi trained academics and military officials and lot of links but its state of political unrest makes it absurd that someone would possibly spy for them).

Do you think this is due to the lack of nationalism within Somalia, or are they just taking advantage of our divisions?

It was couple of months ago when the Somali federal government arrested YouTube vlogger Mukhtar Nuur who show cases the beauty of Somalia through his camera lens to the rest of the Globe.

Mukhtar an assimilated Emirati of Somali origin who works with the Emirates Embassy in Mogadishu was accused flying a drone over Mogadishu port to spy on a Qatari ship carrying aid to Somalia. We know that the UAE and Qatar are not at the best of terms and the UAE is heavily interfering politically in Somalia. Both Qatar and the UAE have big fish working for them but that a nationalist vlogger is used shows that ordinary folks can be overtly spying for their adopted country at the expense of the country their great grandfathers left.

Descendant I think both its lack of nationalism as they have more sympathy with their host country who took them in than their own country. Mostly the country relies on the diaspora and this countries being in Somalia ship people to Somalia who they can work along with and possibly get them to spy. Of course they are taking advantage of our weak state and disenfranchised population.

Huda Gamar an intelligent girl who speaks many languages including Arabic, French and Chinese and lives in China.

She is very close to her adapted country and promotes its virtues just because she lives there and is assimilated. She talks about how good the Chinese are and that they look differently to Africa and want it to progress she clearly has conflict of interest here.

She has not visited Somalia yet but promotes China all the time. She is currently in London promoting surprise surprise a film about ‘Africans in China‘ she must have financed it herself I guess.

Zakariya Mahmud Haji Abdi works for Eritrea a frequenter of their Embassy in London and who lived in Asmara as opposition to Ethiopia’s invasion in late 2006. He is proficient and skilled in the Arabic language and probably spy for the government of Egypt as he studied there.

He hates imperialism with passion but loves his British passport and London. Possible other countries he spies for Djibouti and Britain.

You've done you research.Which officials do you think are the most independent/pro- Somali. It would be good to know.

sager I might get into trouble here if I do not post or make a thread in the next few days you know what might have happened.

You guessed it right a job offer that I cannot decline or were you really thinking they would make me disappear?

Descendent definitely those not in contact with foreign nations or having interests such as businesses, homes and family in foreign countries or their citizenship.

Abdirashid Hidig a CIA spy and American citizen who also spies for Ethiopia. He is currently in Kenya/Jubaland and might give his services to them too. A controversial person who often instigates dissent.
