Anyone find it absolutely weird sending money to grown men in Somalia. I've noticed when I was in Xamar, the Bantus seemed to have the best work ethic, they were in fishing, construction and general xamaali. Why would other Somalis rather ask for money from relatives than work these jobs? They seem to be fine working these jobs in the West.

Bantu Somalis mainly congregate in urban centers which have the highest rate of employment
Especially a job that pays well
Historically builders, blacksmiths, basically everything regarding manual work was looked down upon and somalis who did it (madhibaans, tumaal etc) were looked down upon aswell.

It's more that the Somalis aren't as skilled. I was staying at a hotel in Bosaso not too long ago and the eedo in charge told me she was calling some Indian to do the electrical work so I asked if there were no Somali electricians and she said there were plenty but they were not good and something would always go wrong and they'd have to keep coming back. It didn't even seem like they were trying to fleece more lacag out of her; they were just unskilled. But the Indian ones get the job done and it tends to stick. That's more a failing of the state than them. Not being able to send them abroad to gain proper skills and remitting them after, not having good trade schools or unis...
Dammit, those indians know how to make money, kimda got to give it to them. The timojileecs need to learn somali and teach us. If not, we must utilise the method of papa Idriis amiin.

Construction and other labor jobs are so labor extensive and time consuming we would take another century to reach upper levels of collective Somali prosperity. We should have a good understanding of it that we can manage the labor
We have such a small density population we can easily delegate it to migrant workers on temporary visas both from West Africa and East Asia that are employed to Somali contractors
Pre Modern Europe and in Classical Rome it was regulated to serfs of the invaded nations whilst the foreign aristocracy sat back and learned how to manage the systems of labor
America used impoverished migrant workers like Irish and Italians in the east and Chinese and Hispanics in the west
Also construction really doesn’t add to the nations prosperity except in infrastructure
Educating our youth in fully comprehensive ways so they can be independent captains of industry would be fruitful
Americas prosperity first came from a robust and self sufficient agricultural economy, then mining, and finally industry , construction and real estate is a fake boom bust economy

Hard work and labor are noble but in Somalia it’s a untenable proposition for Somalis due to our independent lifestyle and pastoral history , unless there’s a further capital destruction or a personal occurrence of ruin due to famine or a disease in livestock. The Somali is more inclined to delegating work and profiting or trade, that’s what pastoralism is especially managing and delegating production labor to livestock

A good example is the trucking frenzy, most people the men when were driving trucks 5-10 years ago have long gone off and either invested it in businesses in Africa or bought more trucks, sponsored people from Somalia to drive for them while they manage the enterprise
Currently was speaking to a family member who owns a company and he told me most of the Somali truck drivers are only new comers to the country

Now that some of us have understanding of the systems of production , we should spread it to our brothers and sisters. use our inheritance of livestock and land to invest in productive enterprises , and use our free time for worship studying and of course war
Right.. its jarring. I saw Turkish construction workers and engineers working with a team of Somali Bantus taking advantage of the construction boom in Xamar. If this keeps going we are going to turn into the gulf with an imported foreign workforce and an inept native population

You know Turkey is and the Ottoman Empire was a nation of serfs , few men benefiting from the labor and production of many , same with Egypt and Iran
That’s not a feasible or worthy model for us, the Arab model is vastly superior and Allah has put in a position ripe to take advantage of their footsteps. 300,000 Qataris command a nation of 2.7 million
Of course it better to quickly faze out the most expensive and imported highly skilled labor like doctors and engineers by teaching our children. Stacking bricks isn’t something you want for your brothers or sons. Highly skilled technicians are important for us to have for industrial secrets like precision machinists
Mexicans until now build most construction west of the Mississippi, they’re good affable people I wish them the best but construction isn’t productive and leaves at the mercy of capital

Western Australia is also a good model, even through its still new and could be refined more, some things they do are unsustainable but we have alot of similarities territorially. many of their methods are feasible for us to adopt may it be ranching, horticulture, or mining
