The thing is farmajo is the national president, bixi is a regional president like any other regional president.

Farmaajo is a new kind of a Somali leader. He is not one of those miniature jackals who came to power by killing fellow Somalis wholesale.

If Biixi had any decency, he would have paved the way for a new generation of Somalilanders to take the reigns of power and resigned, allowing the ones who don't have blood on their hands to lead the region.

For that reason Somalia is ahead. Just seeing Mogadishu transforming into this vibrant place filled with young people who have aspirations for better Somalia is so satisfying.

Somalia is changing and hopefully all blood-thirsty dinosaurs of the past will be sidelined soon for good.
