Somaliland Government Websites are often more advanced

Does anyone know who handles the Somaliland Governments websites.comparing them to the Somali Federal Governments website , its much more advanced.

Its odd how reer Somaliland seems much more professional than Somalia when the latter gets just as much funding and foreign help is at an all time high.The former take pride in their works.Heck the Somalia websites reek of corruption and mishandled funds.I have become much more interested in Somaliland since my relative is a member of parliament.

In 2015, part of 4 million USD were used to help three Parliaments in Somalia.

1. NFP National Federal Parliament in Mogadishu

2. House of Representatives Puntland

3. House of Representatives Somaliland

Some of the money were used to make websites to enhance communication and interaction with younger people.

Now let‘s check them out each.

First HoR Puntland Parliament Website

Third NFP Federal Republic of Somalia Parliament Website

Proof from UNDP that they paid money towards websites for the three Parliaments!

This comes from their website:

‘Also the project has contributed to the establishment of National Federal Parliament, Somaliland and Puntland House of Representative’s websites in line with IPU guidelines for Parliamentary websites.‘

Note: The National Federal Parliament uses the gov.so the national domain but it was not in the hands of FGS at the time!

If it cannot be compared to the Puntland and Somaliland HoR‘s than atleast the two HoR could be compared.

Puntland HoR was designed by Ramaas Software which is very renowned and based in London.

Although ok it doesn't look nearly as professional as it supposed to do.This seems as if a basic SQL database was connected to a php , minute javascript, laden website.I think I might try to make a more advanced website for Puntland.Do you know who is the head of the ministry?

All three of the websites are half assed jobs.The design isn't great and its mixed with English and somali instead of a completely separate translatable page.

Daljecel they are all basic but you are right. On Somaliland HoR's I found some empty links especially the MP contact details.

The whole exercise was to deliver a platform for younger people to contact their representative. They need to improve on that.

Mainly because Somaliland is a single government while Somalia consist of multiple governments and silos within those governments.

Thats the only significant observation i could make besides the fact all 3 are basic sites. Not bad but not great either.
