Anyone that worked for the Kacaan regime shouldn't be allowed to hold any office at, if MSB never existed no Somali leader would even entertain the idea of dictatorship, practice nepotism and instigating between neighboring tribes.

Kaltun was a commissioner and now a new team has been formed replacing the chairperson.This will be the 6th Electorate commission team I think.
She's an outstanding civil servant appreciated by even the opposition party like UCID. A qualified women is a positive step in the right direction as there is severe lack of female representation within top branches of government.
As for 'corruption' the old chairperson was an ex kulmiye member. This led to election delays as Wadani & UCID disagreed with it but finally accepted.Given that they won the majority of Parliament last year you can't really comment about corruption.

Lastly the president doesn't elect the chairperon but the commissioners in the Somaliland Electoral commission do.
As for why she would have been elected we'll it's due to the fact with her experience.She was the chairperson of Nagaad Umbrella organisation for more than 5 years which isa civil organisation that's represents more than 46 women organisations in Somaliland and has been campaigning for women rights and inclusion in politics for more than 20 years.
In the last election in May 2021 0 females were voted in parliament.How would you tackle this issue? By making a female advocate for 20 plus years as a chairperson of the commission is a good start.
