Latest Africa hotel in Somaliland to open with soaring spirit

One of India’s hospitality companies has unveiled its plan to open a hotel in Hargeisa, the capital city of Somaliland.

Somaliland is a growing economy in East Africa. As a destination, it has much to offer for business and leisure travelers alike. Somaliland’s Port of Berbera is a convenient distance from the hotel. There are plans for the port to be upgraded, the country’s commercial hub.

Owned by Upper Hill Hotel, Sarovar Premiere Hargeisa, upon completion in 2020 will have a total of 123 rooms and suites; conferencing & meeting, an all-day dining restaurant and a swimming pool.


Ajay K Bakaya, Managing Director, Sarovar Hotels Pvt. Ltd. said, “In order to maximize further growth opportunities in Africa, we are delighted to announce another milestone in Sarovar’s expansion plan. This hotel is located in one of the prime locations of Somaliland close to the getaway port of Berbera and has good connectivity from Hargeisa Egal international airport as well for travelers to the country. Having successfully operated hotels in other countries of Africa, we now look forward to provide our signature hospitality in this growing country as well.”

For the history buff, there are cave paintings and rock art, the most notable being the Laas Geel caves. For beach lovers, Berbera an exotic coastal deserted beach, where the amazing warm waters of the Gulf of Aden stand still. The trekker and the nature traveler will have access to changing topographies from mountains to waterfalls, and to plateaus.

If Somalis only focus on Tourism then Somalia would just become another under-developed Jamaica 2.0 "tourist hotspot".

Jamaica 2.0? We know why white women go to Jamaica. I don’t foresee them going to Somalis for the same thing. They used to come to xamar precivil war and complained that Somali men weren’t interested in them:mjcry:
