Good advice. Somaliland will have to accept the reality that America diplomatically will treat Somaliland as State within Somalia to preserve their relationship with America.

The issue being SL will have to sacrifice their sovereignty and claim to independence but will be able to work in collaboration with America without Somalia’s interference.

For Somalia this is beneficial, America will have a permanent security presence in Somalia and can launch attacks on AS quicker, more effectively. They’ll also put an end to worries SL will ever receive recognition from a major power and in fact reverse momentum given SL has allowed countries to cooperate with them that will consider them a FMS. US, Europe and China will use Somalia ambassadors to engage with SL.

They will use Somalia’s central bank and projects under FGS to reach within SL borders for example like we’ve seen in Lascaanood. This’ll mean Somaliland’s borders will not be free from Somalia’s reach as the FGS strengthens.

Somalia can leverage their relationship with America as it becomes a more important and stronger partner in the region to bring into reality the One Somalia policy.

How can someone be independent when they don’t even have border controls. Your economy is now integrated into Somalia after Silanyo and Bihi’s acceptance of One Somalia policy of the UN and EU. I can take a car from Hargeisa to Bosaso to Xamar without interruption. This used to not be the case.

You have an autonomous government, that’s it.
