I came across some information online stating that our army size is only 15,000. Since the civil war, Somalia has been under an arms embargo, but it has recently been lifted. I am wondering if HSM will invest in rebuilding the army, as he keeps talking about defeating AL and claiming that ATMIS will soon leave Somalia.

Also, what happened to the army that was sent to train in Eritrea? Do you have any idea where the army will be headed in the future?

The Somali army has been growing at a rapid pace, ever since former president sheikh sharif sheikh Ahmed. Brought in the Turks, the Turkish military academy has been rapidly training cadets for some years now. The approx number of the SNA is approx 30,000 - 40,000 soldiers. When Somalia ends up defeating AS and peace is restored.I’m hoping to see the SNA take their rightful place as one of the best armed forces on the African continent. The Somali cadets that were sent to Eritrea by former president Farmajoo have completed their training and are back on home soil to serve their nation.

According to cia factbook Somalia have almost 24k soldiers in 2023. The conditions for atmis leaving Somalia that the government must have almost 30k soldiers at minimum.

That isn't a problem when you realize that every major Somali clan has at least 100k militia who have seen combat for decades. When you put together all those guys, Somalia's army can jump to half a million at least within couple of years. They'd just have to train those moryaans which is the difficult part.

We have technicals Toyota pickup truck a lot of it. We have mostly light vehicles and it’s excellent for our terrain especially for hit and run operations against heavy equipment enemy like Ethiopia. We just need air to air missiles to counter Ethiopia Air Force jets.
