Somalia was at its peak with Siyaad not because of Siyaad but the Somali race having a higher IQ back then. We would be much better without a coup.
Stop coping with "Somalia once was" and be positive about u country now, even if Somalis is in bad shape u can only go up stop this self hating attitude
All of the country was mismanaged except one city tbh. Nothing was at its peak.

Not true. It was a soviet aid dependent frenzy ruled by a shameless dictator at it’s peak under Siad Barre and then from 1978-91 the events that led to the civil war took place. I’d take the Somali republic that was ruled by Africa’s first democrats. Alla ya raxma

I’m sure everyone who helped Afweyne and later got executed by him deeply regretted deposing the Democratically elected government.

This is not true, he kick started many things such as the farming and was very pan-somali at the beginning

HSM has been president for 6 years. So what you’re saying is if in his 10th year he turns the country into a civil war he’s a success?
Nah HSM is completely corrupt from his very first term and moment he came into office, from what I've seen barre had good intentions and it can be seen in his first 10 years of rule when he helped his people more than any president

No ,without the coup which was completely bloodless, somalia would of been under corrupt rule , if you've read anything about it you would know that the presidental seat would of went to the highest bidder and would of remained under one clan

My point is if a president leads for 10 years (forget good or bad that he does) but by his tenth year the country is in civil war was that good leadership?
I can list you many achievements for Somalia since 2012 but if HSM ended his term leaving a civil war and rebel groups everywhere then he’d be a failure.
It’s as simple as that. The basic function of any leader is to leave the country in a better place than to the one he inherited. Barre is one of the worst we’ve ever seen in the world for this.
Siade barre ruled more than 10 years, I'm saying to you what he achieved in those 10 years alone no other somali president could do (that we know of). The civil war wasn't siad barre fault.
