We have water and we have sunlight. Wallahi the "use it or lost it" term applies to Somalia in every which way. I hope the next generation invests in Agro
Dire situations create necessity for innovations time for us to move on from pastrolism and move to long term food security in differnt agriculture sectors like farming, poultry and fishing.
This is certainly a possibility, but in much of Somaliland there is little to no soil left to support anything worthwhilThe land may get enough rain to even support sorghum, but the soil has eroded to the bedrock in many places. It is very sad because soil when it is gone does not come back.
That area in red in Somaliland probably has upwards of 1 million people, most of whom are pastoralists who cannot stop degrading the land without losing their only source of income.

The one good thing about losing all this livestock is seeing pictures of many regions showing grass growth.
The government needs to set up Argrozones for Somali investors to invest in this sector. I heard a story where a man setup a sesame farm and before harvest goats and camels destroyed the acreage. They need to install policies or farmers will shot to kill nomads
