Somalia needs to become disability/mental health friendly.

I saw a video about a school for deaf children in Mogadishu and it's beautiful but also sad, as in, what's the use of sign language if most Somalis don't understand it?
We need to lobby for all schools across the Somali peninsula to teach sign language.
Surely, we can find ways to do this, Somalia needs to become very friendly to all persons with disabilities and other issues, be it mental or physical.

I don't know how we can do this but I hope someone who has power sees this topic and lobbies for funding etc.

For instance, developing cities that are already paving and building pavements, need to ensure the curb is lowered for wheelchair access. In addition, ALL shops and public buildings need a wheelchair ramp or at least, no high pavement.

People with physical and mental disabilities are mostly ostracized and shunned. It’ll probably take some time to get those sentiments out of the people’s heads and make Somalia a Disability friendly and safe country.

I agree, it’s so important to look after the vulnerable. Breaks my heart when I see them chaining up people with mental health problems or making foorjo/kaftan of the physically less abled.

I compare the western dog GDP stronger then Somalia GDP. No joke, dogs are wealthier then Somalis and consume more and hence leads to more production and jobs in the economy.

Damn eygi ayaa ka qiimo wayn a Somali in the west. No joke we try to act like we are a nation but when u go check the GDP of dogs and look at Somalia, u will see what I mean. Even the wealth of dogs are higher

The estimated spending of Dogs include

1. Food, water
2. Dog House
3. Health services for veternary
4. Washing

This is quite standard budget of DOGS, work out how much is spend in the market place by only 'dogs' and u will see it equals more then 2 households of Somalia, that is 12 people. Somalis are so poor they are not measured per person, they measure them on 'household' meaning u need to measure at least 6 of them to 'register a radar' on the economic scale.
