40% of Somali words are Arabic in origin and with the arrival of more Arabic speaking people in Somalia expect the language to evolve further, soon Somali will become a Pidgin variant of Arabic. If you say this you clearly have no idea of how Sudan became arabized. Sudanese Nubians litteraly switched their language Because of heavy migration from Arabia and some degree of mixing with the Arabs from Hejaz. Somalia has no prominent Arab population, even the Benadiris who have recent Arab origins are culturally Somalized and speak mostly af Somali.
Also the number of Arabic loanwords is probably lower around 20%, if you know af Somali really good you can bring it down to 10-15%. If you read Somali poetry the number of Arabic words is very low. We will never be arabized
